FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports the Cleveland Indians were blown away by Cleveland Indians Single-A Mahoning Valley manager Travis Fryman in his interview for the Indians' managerial job. "He was a huge surprise - he blew us away," general manager Mark Shapiro said. "He was surprisingly clear in the way he would build a staff and run the team. The further into the interview he got, the more excited he became by the potential of managing. We left the interview believing he will be an impact major-league manager someday. The timing just wasn't right."

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports Bobby Valentine is one of the finalists for the vacant Cleveland Indians manger's job. He'll come to Cleveland this week for a second interview. Manny Acta and Indians' Class A Mahoning Valley manager Travis Fryman are believed to be two other finalists.
