The Sports Network reports Seattle Mariners 3B Adrian Beltre (shoulder, thumb) underwent a pair of successful surgeries Thursday, Sept. 18. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder to remove bone spurs and underwent reconstruction of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb. Beltre is expected to face a recovery time of three to four months.

Updating previous reports, Seattle Mariners 3B Adrian Beltre (thumb/shoulder) will make his final appearance of the season Sunday, Sept. 14, and will undergo surgeries on both his left thumb and his left shoulder Thursday, Sept. 18, according to The Associated Press. An inflamed bursa in his left shoulder will be repaired, and the shoulder will be cleaned out during routine arthroscopic surgery. The operation to replace the torn ligament in his left thumb is more complicated, and rehabilitation is expected to take up to five months. Beltre said he decided to have the surgery now so he could be 100 percent by spring training.
