The Associated Press reports former MLB 2B Marcus Giles has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery for assaulting his wife last year. He was placed on three years probation and ordered to undergo a year of counseling.

Debbi Baker, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports free-agent 2B Marcus Giles (Phillies) was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 7, on charges of domestic battery involving his wife. His wife told officers she was making a citizen's arrest on her husband for battery. Giles was taken into custody and is being booked on charges of domestic battery on a spouse.
