Mon, 05 Oct 2009 10:55:38 -0700 The Associated Press reports the New York Mets announced that first base coach Luis Alicea will not be back next year and bench coach Sandy Alomar Sr. will be offered another job within the organization. Third base coach Razor Shines and catching coach Sandy Alomar Jr. will remain with the staff but will have different roles. Hitting coach Howard Johnson, pitching coach Dan Warthen and bullpen coach Randy Niemann will be back in the same positions in 2010.

"He just told me they were going to make changes and I was one of the changes," said Alicea. "I've received about a hundred calls today and everyone's surprised. I'm surprised."
