Sat, 11 Apr 2009 11:31:10 -0700 The Associated Press reports that former MLB 1B Mo Vaughn has sued Ra Shonda Kay Marshall, of Powell, Ohio, for allegedly stealing more than $1 million. The suit against Marshall, who managed Vaughn's finances for four years, was filed in February, and also seeks more than $5 million in punitive damages. Marshall filed a counterclaim this week denying the allegations and claiming Vaughn has damaged her reputation.

The members elected include Mo Vaughn, Mike Greenwell, Bill Lee, Wes Ferrell, Everett Scott, Frank Sullivan, George Digby and Edward Kinney Sr.
Thu, 13 Dec 2007 23:08:35 -0800 Former MLB 1B/DH Mo Vaughn has been named in the Mitchell Report. The report includes a check from Vaughn for human growth hormone. Personal trainer and former employee of the New York Mets Kirk Radomski said Vaughn called him for advice on recovering from an ankle injury. Radomski told Vaughn human growth hormone would help his ankle heal faster, and thereafter continued to sell HGH to Vaughn.
Thu, 24 Feb 2005 08:16:23 -0800 The Associated Press reports former New York Mets 1B Mo Vaughn will buy and refurbish two run-down apartment complexes as part of the city's effort to develop more affordable housing. Vaughn and his company, Omni New York LLC, will use a $28.6 million loan from the city's Housing Development Corp. to cover the cost of the project. There are about 300 apartments in the two developments, almost all of them occupied. The developments are part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Section 8 program, and the average rent is $270 a month.

His agent, Greg Genske, reportedly has fielded calls from several teams and said Vaughn might be a good fit with an AL team, where he could DH. "He's working out and doing better," Genske said. "He's interested in what options there are. ... He just wants to see what's out there. He hasn't gone too far yet – he's thinking about it."

Vaughn, who sat out most of the past two seasons due to an arthritic left knee, filed in order to get off the Mets' 40-man roster after completing an $80 million, six-year deal.

Sun, 25 Jan 2004 22:41:52 -0800 The Associated Press is reporting New York Mets 1B Mo Vaughn (knee) has all but announced his retirement from baseball, breaking the news Friday to a group of Brockton Rox supporters at a team banquet. "I'm through, man, I'm through," Vaughn said to the supporters. "My career is over. I have an injury no doctor can fix, but I have no regrets." Vaughn has not officially filed for retirement, because he is owed $15 million by the Mets and the team is insured for all but $3.75 million of that amount by keeping him on the disabled list.
