Nevin, who was a free agent after the 2006 season, said he didn't get an offer he liked, and also wanted to end speculation that the San Diego Padres were considering bringing him back. He finished his career with a .270 batting average, 208 home runs and 743 runs batted in. Nevin recently joined a pregame show on the Padres' flagship radio station and said he's signed with ESPN to work as an analyst during college regionals and the College World Series.
