The New York Giants have waived/injured OT Char-ron Dorsey (knee), according to Michael Eisen of Giants.com. Dorsey missed all of training camp after undergoing knee surgery. Once he clears waivers, he will revert to the team's injured reserve list, which will sideline him for the entire season.

Backup OT Char-ron Dorsey and starting RB Robert Thomas both have slight calf muscle strains, while CBs Pete Hunter and Duane Hawthorne have hamstring strains.

Coach Dave Campo said he won't know Garmon's status until pre-game warm-ups Sunday. If Garmon can't play, rookie Matt Lehr will replace him. Rookie RT Char-ron Dorsey will be making his second start in place of Solomon Page (knee/IR). The team is trying to get RB Emmitt Smith 1,000 yards rushing for the season behind the revamped offensive line. "We want Emmitt to get 1,000 yards this season, but it's not going to be the focus of the game," Campo said.

There is still a chance he could play Sunday. He will be a game-time decision. Starting G Kelvin Garmon (sprained foot) encouraged the Cowboys with the work he did with the trainers Friday. He is also a game-time decision. If he can't play, rookie Matt Lehr will start at right guard. Although Char-ron Dorsey will start at right tackle this week, the team is already thinking about starting OL Aaron Gibson in the season finale against the Detroit Lions next week.

The Cowboys will start rookie Char-ron Dorsey at right tackle for the final two games. Page will have no problem being ready for the start of the team's off-season conditioning work beginning in March. The Cowboys claimed LB Marq Cerqua, who was released by the Buccaneers on Saturday.

DB Char-Ron Dorsey (strained calf) didn't play over the weekend but should return to practice on Wednesday. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports S George Teague (concussion) was working out on Monday but still felt woozy after suffering a mild concussion over the weekend.

As an update to previous reports, Dallas Cowboys.com reports both G Larry Allen (shoulder) and LB Orantes Grant (knee) were able to practice Thursday. Coach Dave Campo said both should play Sunday. LB Markus Steele (knee/hand) did not practice, but he is expected to practice tomorrow. "If he's healthy and practices (Friday), we'll go with him," Campo said of Steele. Rookie OT Char-ron Dorsey (calf) sat out today's practice.

Apparently he did not inform the coaches or any other players. His agent said he's not been sleeping well due to cramping.

According to Mickey Spagnola of the team's official site, an MRI on Dallas Cowboys OT Flozell Adams' knee revealed Adams suffered a first-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during Monday's morning practice, and likely will be out no more than three to four weeks. A first-degree sprain means there was only minimal tearing of the MCL. With Adams out at least the first three pre-season games, the Cowboys are expected to continue working Dan Collins and seventh-round draft choice Char-ron Dorsey with the first team at left tackle.

The Star-Telegram reports agent Robert Bolar said yesterday the Dallas Cowboys have signed seventh-round pick OT Char-ron Dorsey to a three-year deal. He received an $18,000 signing bonus and base salaries of $209,000, $298,000 and $389,000 in 2001, 2002 and 2003, respectively. The Cowboys have eight more draft picks to sign before training camp starts Sunday.
