Berry has been offered another position within the organization and Bagwell will begin his new post Thursday, July 15.
Wed, 27 Jan 2010 11:39:16 -0500 Astros.MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports former Houston Astros 1B Jeff Bagwell will undergo major surgery on his right shoulder Monday, Feb. 1. Bagwell hopes the surgery will allow him to live pain-free and avoid potential total shoulder replacement. "They'll shave the ball of my arm down to a perfect circle, then drill a hole in the middle of it and stick a metal half ball on top of it and it should give me the perfect circle to where it's supposed to fit," Bagwell said. "It's getting worse. I'm getting more bone spurs that are pressing against the rotator cuff. It's time for me to do something. If this doesn't work, then I'm going to have to get a total shoulder replacement. We'll see if this works."

Kelly Blair, the owner of 1-on-1 Elite Personal Fitness bragged to friends and clients that he provided steroids to SP Roger Clemens, SP Andy Pettitte and 1B Jeff Bagwell. Blair denied the claims to federal investigators in March.

Mon, 18 Dec 2006 11:49:45 -0500 The Associated Press reports the Houston Astros have settled a lawsuit with the insurance company Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. after the team filed a claim to get back $15.6 million of injured 1B Jeff Bagwell's (shoulder) contract. In March, the insurance company told the Astros they were denying the club's claim for repayment. The Astros then appealed the denial in April after Bagwell was deemed too injured to play due to chronic shoulder problems. No details of the resolution were released. |
