Tue, 27 Dec 2011 09:11:33 -0800 Texas Rangers C Yorvit Torrealba has been suspended 66 games by the Venezuelan Winter League for hitting an umpire during an argument Friday, Dec. 23. The suspension goes through the rest of this winter ball season and all of next year's schedule. The penalty will not carry over to Major League Baseball.
Sat, 24 Dec 2011 12:28:39 -0800 Texas Rangers C Yorvit Torrealba struck a home plate umpire in the face after striking out in a Venezuelan Winter League game Friday, Dec. 23. After swinging at strike three, he argued with umpire Dario Rivera Jr. over a previous strike call during the at-bat. Torrealba then struck Rivera in the mask approximately 15 seconds into the exchange. It is unknown what type of punishment he will receive from either the Venezuelan League or the Rangers.

Moreland was hitless in four at-bats with three strikeouts, and he is 2-for-17 in the postseason.
