The witness list for the perjury trial involving former San Francisco Giants OF Barry Bonds has been disclosed, according to The Associated Press. The list includes former baseball players Bobby Estalella, Armando Rios, Marvin Benard, Benito Santiago, Randy Velarde and Jason Giambi's brother, Jeremy Giambi. Estalella is expected to testify that Bonds told him he used steroids. The prosecutors will call the other retired players and former football player Larry Izzo to the witness stand to discuss their steroid use.

Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Pirates C Benito Santiago (infection) refused a minor-league rehabilitation assignment Saturday, April 30, and will continue working out with the team. A viral infection caused him to lose five to six pounds. He said he is fine now and ready to play and does not see the necessity of going to the minors. By refusing to go to the minors, it could delay his return to the field because he needs to regain his timing at the plate and in the field.
