Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura said he likes C A.J. Pierzynski in the No. 2 spot of the batting order this season. "I think he handles the bat great, is always a tough out," Ventura said. "Not that he's going to steal a lot of bases, but he handles the bat and does the appropriate things and he'll hook it if he has to and put it the other way if you shift on him. Right now, I like him right there."

There is talk that Chicago White Sox C Tyler Flowers will see more of a catching role in 2012, which would limit the playing time of C A.J. Pierzynski. "To be honest, I haven't even thought about it," said Pierzynski, who hasn't talked to new manager Robin Ventura about his situation. "I come in every year expecting to play 162 games."
