Ian Harrison, of Bluejays.MLB.com, reports Toronto Blue Jays veteran C Ken Huckaby could start the year at Triple-A Syracuse playing with talented young C Guillermo Quiroz. Huckaby is slotted in as a backup catcher for C Gregg Zaun and C Greg Myers.

Updating a previous item, The Toronto Star's Allan Ryan reports Toronto Blue Jays C Greg Myers is happy with his new contract, considering the injuries and age status. "I think this was fair, given the severity of the injury and the concerns they might have," said Myers. "Even if the 2004 season was still going right now, I don't know if I'd be ready but it's close. I think I've played long enough to know what it's all about. I'm confident I'll know how to approach it ... get myself ready."

Blue Jays | Myers Re-Signs

The Associated Press reports the Toronto Blue Jays re-signed C Greg Myers to a minor-league contract. He would get a $700,000, one-year contract if he is added to the major league roster and could earn an additional $50,000 in performance bonuses: $5.000 each for 150, 200, 250, 300 and 400 plate appearances, and $5,000 each for 100, 110, 120, 130 and 150 games.

Spencer Fordin, of BlueJays.MLB.com, reports Toronto Blue Jays C Greg Myers (ankle) was transferred from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL for his twisted ankle. The move was made in order to accommodate the team's addition of C Bobby Estalella to the 40-man roster.

Spencer Fordin, of BlueJays.MLB.com, reports Toronto Blue Jays C Greg Myers (ankle) has not progressed well in his recovery from a twisted ankle. Manager Carlos Tosca stated the recovery was going slowly and that "he has a pretty bad twist of the ankle."

Updating previous items, the AP reports injured Toronto Blue Jays C Greg Myers (ankle) will likely miss at least four weeks of action, according to Toronto manager Carlos Tosca. Additionally, Myers also has a deep bone bruise. "That's probably as big a contributor as the sprain," said Tosca.

The Associated Press's Dave Campbell reports Toronto Blue Jays C Greg Myers (ankle) injured his left ankle rounding third base on 2B Orlando Hudson's hit Monday against the Minnesota Twins and left the field on a cart. No further details about Myers were immediately available.
