Head coach Mike Nolan said Allen has indicated that he would like to play for somebody in 2008. Nolan stated that there is a possibility that Allen could return to the team.

The Associated Press reports free-agent OG Larry Allen (49ers) may consider postponing his retirement to return this season, according to head coach Mike Nolan. Nolan has not spoken directly to Allen, but said Monday, July 21, offensive line coach George Warhop had a recent conversation with him. "He called a week or two ago to express his interest, but I haven't heard from him since," Nolan said. "I just think because he's a free agent, he just left it up to his agent this time."
