According to The Washington Post's Barry Svrluga, the Washington Nationals recalled C Wiki Gonzalez from Triple-A New Orleans in an effort to improve on a low success rate in throwing out base-stealing runners. The team was 5-for-34 entering the Sunday, May 14, game against the Atlanta Braves, and C Matthew LeCroy hadn't thrown out any of the previous 13 stealers.
