Barrett will report to Single-A St. Lucie and is expected to move up to Triple-A Buffalo after a few weeks.

He sustained the injury while chasing a wild pitch Friday, April 17, against the Oakland Athletics, when he fell on a weighted sleeve in the Athletics' on-deck circle. General manager J.P. Ricciardi said X-rays were unable to reveal the extent of the injury because his shoulder was too swollen.
