The New York Mets signed free-agent C Michael Barrett (Blue Jays) to an undisclosed minor league deal Tuesday, June 29, according to ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin. Barrett will report to Single-A St. Lucie and is expected to move up to Triple-A Buffalo after a few weeks.

MLB.com's Jordan Bastian posted on his Twitter page that the Toronto Blue Jays activated C Michael Barrett (shoulder) from the 15-day disabled list Monday, July 6, and outrighted him to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Updating previous reports, Toronto Blue Jays C Michael Barrett (shoulder) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, because of a torn muscle and possible fracture in his right shoulder, according to The Associated Press. He sustained the injury while chasing a wild pitch Friday, April 17, against the Oakland Athletics, when he fell on a weighted sleeve in the Athletics' on-deck circle. General manager J.P. Ricciardi said X-rays were unable to reveal the extent of the injury because his shoulder was too swollen.
