Detroit Tigers third base coach Gene Lamont will have a second interview with management and Toronto Blue Jays coach Torey Lovullo is still a candidate.

General manager Jed Hoyer said the field may be complete. "Quite probably, yes," Hoyer said. "I wouldn't guarantee it is. But we feel really good about the four guys we brought in. I wouldn't rule out an additional candidate, but it's not a certainty, either." The team also interviewed Philadelphia Phillies bench coach Pete Mackannin, Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach Dave Sveum and Texas Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddux.

Sleeper candidates would be Atlanta Braves first base coach Terry Pendleton and former manager Ken Macha.
