Atlanta Braves CL Craig Kimbrel received a supportive text message from former CL Billy Wagner after the Braves squandered a big lead in the wild card. The Atlanta Braves released RP Billy Wagner in a move that allows them to protect his rights in case he returns at some point this year, according to The Associated Press. Wagner retired last year and had a $6.5 million option for the 2011 season.

Atlanta Braves P Jonny Venters said Thursday, Feb. 3, that he credits retired CL Billy Wagner for teaching him the ropes in 2010, reports David O'Brien, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "There's so many things I took from it, me and RP Craig Kimbrel both," Venters said. "You just try to soak in everything they can teach you. We really didn't know what we have until we see what other guys have gone through, and they say, 'Hey, I didn't have that when I was coming up.'"
