According to The New York Daily News, New York Mets P Todd Van Poppel is expected to announce his retirement as soon as Monday, March 7.

Van Poppel (1-1) struck out five and walked two. The Phillies went from leading the wild-card race by a half-game to trailing by a half-game to Florida when the Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves 6-5 Saturday night.
