The Palm Beach Post's Zach Stewart reports Florida Marlins RP Tim Spooneybarger (elbow), who last pitched for the Marlins in 2003, left the mound at Roger Dean Stadium grimacing after throwing 21 pitches in a rehabilitation start July 20. After a brief mound conversation, he left the field in obvious pain and returned to the clubhouse. Team officials would not comment on the injury.

Spooneybarger underwent Tommy John surgery in September 2003.

The Palm Beach Post's Joe Capozzi reports Florida Marlins RP Tim Spooneybarger (elbow) felt no pain Tuesday, Feb. 1 when he threw off a mound for the first time since September 2004. He missed all of last season while recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery and expects to compete this spring for a bullpen spot.
