St. Louis Rams LB Pisa Tinoisamoa (hand) suffered a broken right hand during the Week 14 game. Tinoisamoa now has a broken right hand, a dislocated left elbow and a broken left hand. He will likely miss the rest of the 2006 season and will probably be replaced by LB Dexter Coakley.

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams LB Dexter Coakley is excited about the hiring of defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and the signings of DL La'Roi Glover, LB Will Witherspoon, and SS Corey Chavous. Coakley said, "We're investing a lot into it, with players. And good players - not just players that are going to come in and wear a jersey." On Haslett, Coakley said, "He's going to bring an attitude that I don't think we had last year. He's going to bring a toughness that I don't think we had last year. All those missed tackles you saw on the field last year - they're not going to tolerate that. They're going to have guys swarming to the ball. ... I'm excited about that because it reminds me a lot of the defenses I played back in Dallas."

Coakley had the screws removed from his ankle nearly six weeks ago, so he might not be ready in time to take part in the minicamp.

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams LB Dexter Coakley plans to return to the team in 2006. After he was injured during the 2005 season, there was some speculation that he might retire. "He was one of the first guys to come in and meet me when I was on the job," head coach Scott Linehan said. "He wanted to know how he fit into the scheme of things, and was very positive." Linehan plans to hold a minicamp before the NFL Draft and he said Coakley may miss that camp for precautionary reasons as he completes his rehabilitation from the injuries.

As reported, the team is currently attempting to restructure Coakley's contract.

Houston scored on their first three possessions, which came against the Cowboys' starting defense. "It didn't feel good," Cowboys LB Dexter Coakley said. "I can't explain what happened. "Coakley is going to play," head coach Bill Parcells said. "We all know that. But we're just trying to find out a few things. We want to see what Bradie James can do. The Dallas Cowboys have announced Cowboys OLB Dexter Coakley was named to the NFC Pro Bowl squad as a replacement for Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Derrick Brooks. Coakley will be making his third Pro Bowl appearance after having been named to the NFC squad following the 1999 and 2001 seasons.
