Nick Eatman, of DallasCowboys.com, reports head coach Bill Parcells is excited over the potential of DT Daleroy Stewart, who has earned high praise from the coach this offseason. "My problem with Daleroy is that I want him to be a force in the game," Parcells said. "I want him to be a big factor in the game as opposed to just a solid player. I want him to be more than that this year. He's big and he's fast and he's strong. I think he's demonstrated to himself that he can play. And I think he can become a real good player for us." Stewart is currently the backup to DT La'Roi Glover.

"There is a guy I have some hopes for right there," Parcells said. "He has the combination of pretty good skills and seems to be headed toward being a pretty committed guy. Stewart said he was feeling better. He has become a valuable part of the defensive line rotation and his potential absence would create a void because there's only three tackles on the roster.

Rick Herrin, of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys DT Daleroy Stewart has shown great improvement during the early portion of the 2003 season, according to head coach Bill Parcells. "Daleroy is probably the most improved guy we have early in the year," Parcells said. "He's starting to get a pretty good feel of things, and he's making a difference for us." The Cowboys currently rank fourth in the NFL in rush defense.

DallasCowboys.com reports Dallas Cowboys rookie DE Daleroy Stewart practiced with the team earlier today. It was the first time since being drafted last April. He did some light work during practice. He missed all of the off-season rehabbing from rotator cuff surgery and spent the first six weeks of the season on reserve/non-football injury list. TE Jackie Harris was held out of practice for precautionary reasons with a strained right hamstring. He is expected to play Sunday.

DallasCowboys.com reports Dallas Cowboys DT Daleroy Stewart (rotator cuff) will be eligible for activation on Wednesday according to NFL rules. Stewart was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list on Aug. 28 with a rotator cuff injury. The Cowboys have told Stewart he will be worked at both tackle and possible defensive end when he begins to practice.
