Washington Nationals RP Brad Lidge (hernia) threw his first bullpen session Wednesday, May 23, since undergoing hernia surgery May 1. He'll report to extended spring training Thursday, May 24, and he could be on pace to return by June 12. Lidge threw 20 fastballs off the mound Wednesday. He'll make four rehab outings, including back-to-back games once, before he returns.

Updating a previous report, the Washington Nationals placed RP Brad Lidge (abdomen) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, April 27, due to an abdominal strain. The move is retroactive to April 22. The team recalled RP Ryan Perry from Triple-A Syracuse in the corresponding move.

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Saturday, April 21, that RP Brad Lidge remains in the mix for ninth-inning duties with RP Henry Rodriguez despite Lidge's recent struggles. Lidge allowed two earned runs, a hit (a home run) and three walks while throwing just 13 of his 29 pitches for strikes while blowing his second save of the season.

Washington Nationals RP Brad Lidge (vertigo) has been dealing with an acute version of vertigo recently, and the issue was bad enough Tuesday, April 17, that it was unclear if he could come in for a save situation. Symptoms include a spinning sensation while standing and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting as well as blurred vision and difficulty speaking.
