"At least today he threw the ball over the plate," Arnsberg said. "The other day, he was erratic -- up and down, in and out. He was challenging hitters today. He got out of there in 14 pitches and got his three outs, but of course there were three runs. At least he was challenging hitters and he's at least aggressive in the zone."

Koch has 163 career saves, but only 19 of those have come in the last two years. Despite losing a few miles off his fastball, Koch says he has learned to pitch and not just throw.
