The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim assigned RP Francisco X. Rodriguez to minor league camp Thursday, March 29, leaving RPs Trevor Bell, Jason Isringhausen, Kevin Jepsen and Rich Thompson fighting for the last three bullpen spots. RPs Bobby Cassevah (shoulder) and Michael Kohn (forearm) will open on the disabled list.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Jason Isringhausen worked a scoreless inning Wednesday, March 28, and manager Mike Scioscia said his stuff looked crisp. Isringhausen is scheduled to work Thursday, March 29, making his first back-to-back appearances of the spring.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Jason Isringhausen, who admits his mechanics have been out of whack this spring, will pitch on back-to-back days this week, which could determine if he will make the roster. If he doesn't make the team, he plans to retire. He's allowed four runs in 3 2/3 spring innings.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Jason Isringhausen is already mentoring RP Jordan Walden, despite being in camp with the team less than a week. "Like most young closers, he takes it too hard," Isringhausen said. "Bruce Sutter once told me, 'You're the only guy on the team who drives to the ballpark every day knowing that, if you do bad, the team does bad. If it happens, you take a shower and leave it there.' That's a pretty good guy to listen to," Isringhausen said.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Jason Isringhausen will make between $700,000 and $1 million if he makes the team, but manager Mike Scioscia said Isringhausen is basically a lock to make the bullpen. His deal includes incentives based on appearances.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed free-agent RP Jason Isringhausen (Mets) to a minor league contract Wednesday, Feb. 22, and he will report to spring training with the team. General manager Jerry Dipoto expects Isringhausen to be part of the team's season-opening relief corps.
