He tried to go through a throwing routine in the bullpen Monday but stopped when the elbow swelled. The Twins will seek a second opinion on the injury before deciding what to do.

"We're trying to slow him down a little bit so he doesn't hurt himself," Gardenhire said. "I'm not trying to get him ready for any specific game. I'm just trying to get him ready to where we feel he can go out there and pitch without hurting himself again."

One player said Fetters was headed to the disabled list, but the Twins' staff would not comment.
