Ronald Blum, of the Associated Press, reports former Seattle Mariners SP Jeff Fassero announced his retirement Friday, Feb. 9. Fassero was cut by the San Francisco Giants in May 2006. He had a workout with the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday, Feb. 2, but did not catch on with the team. He finishes his 16-year career with a 121-124 record, a 4.11 ERA and 25 saves.
