Updating a previous report, Joseph Durante, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Astros RP Mike DeJean has an opt-out clause in his contract that allows him to become a free agent if he does not make the team. DeJean said his agent to look to see if there would be other teams interested before deciding on his future.

The Associated Press' Pat Graham reports Colorado Rockies SP Aaron Cook made an adjustment to his sinkerball, throwing more four-seam pitches during his Aug. 27 start against the San Diego Padres. Cook induced 11 groundball outs in a 6-3 victory. "Mainly, I did it to keep the lefties off balance because I had been getting beat a lot down away from lefties," Cook said. "Mike DeJean told me that they had felt too comfortable with me and weren't being stood up at all so I needed to come in hard and in on them."
