The New York Yankees are looking for another left-handed reliever to complement RP Boone Logan, and the Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles have been scouting the Yankees, fueling rumors that the Yanks are looking at RP Mike Gonzalez of the Orioles and RP John Grabow of the Cubs. Chicago White Sox RP Will Ohman and Florida Marlins RP Randy Choate are other possibilities.

The Florida Marlins are unlikely to make any major moves heading into the trade deadline as they approach the .500 mark. They may consider adding a third baseman or another pitcher, but nothing major is expected. The team is saying that SP Ricky Nolasco is not on the market. They also have little interest in moving RP Randy Choate.

Florida Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez said RP Leo Nunez (back) will not be used until Monday, June 13, at the earliest to let him rest after dealing with a stiff back.

Rodriguez said he will go with a committee for the ninth inning with Nunez on the shelf. RP Randy Choate may be used against the Arizona Diamondbacks in a save situation Friday, June 10.
