St. Louis Cardinals SP Marco Gonzales could be used as a left-handed reliever next season, according to general manager John Mozeliak. RP Randy Choate is set to become a free agent and the team is reportedly interested in having a lefty in the bullpen who isn't as specialized.
Fantasy Tip: In other words, the Cards would like to have a left-handed reliever who is capable of facing more than one or two left-handed hitters at a time. Gonzales is 4-2 with a 4.82 ERA in 11 career games in the majors, six of which were starts, but only had one big league appearance in 2015.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons could be used as a left-handed reliever next season, according to general manager John Mozeliak. RP Randy Choate is set to become a free agent and the team is interested in having a southpaw in the bullpen who isn't necessarily a situational lefty.
Fantasy Tip: Lyons went 3-1 with a 3.75 ERA in 17 games (eight starts) for St. Louis this season and averaged a strikeout an inning. A permanent move to the bullpen would dramatically decrease his fantasy value.

St. Louis Cardinals RP Randy Choate recorded the final two outs of a 1-0 win over the Atlanta Braves Saturday, July 25, to notch his first save of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Closer Trevor Rosenthal received his second consecutive scheduled day off after appearing in three straight games, and Choate's save chances will remain few and far between.
