Roch Kubatko, of the Baltimore Sun, reports that two National League teams, and one American League team, have made offers to free agent RP Antonio Alfonseca. According to his agent, Alfonseca is looking for an opportunity to serve as a closer next season.

Todd Zolecki, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Kane Davis has been moved ahead of relievers Antonio Alfonseca and Jose Mesa in the Phillies' bullpen. In three appearances, Davis has gone 0-1 with a 4.90 while Alfonseca has a 30.38 ERA in his last six appearances and Mesa has a 19.50 ERA in his last seven.

Stephen Miller, of The Morning Call, reports Philadelphia Phillies CL Brett Myers (shoulder) is not expected to return until the end of June, despite him throwing off the mound for the first time Tuesday, June 12. Myers has said he feels he can return as early as June 18, but GM Pat Gillick is not going to rush him back onto the field. RP Antonio Alfonseca will hold down closing duties until Myers is able to return.
