San Francisco Giants RP Jeremy Affeldt said he will continue to wear a brace on his right knee until he is told to take it off because he said it makes the knee feel more stable. Affeldt was on the disabled with a strained right knee but has pitched five scoreless innings since returning and while wearing the brace.

The San Francisco Giants have activated RP Jeremy Affeldt from the 15-day disabled list (knee) and recalled 2B Charlie Culberson from Triple-A Fresno. Culberson is expected to be in the starting lineup Sunday, May 13, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In corresponding moves, the team has optioned INF Conor Gillaspie to the minors and designated SP Travis Blackley for assignment.

San Francisco Giants RP Jeremy Affeldt (knee) played catch from 90 feet Saturday, May 5. He is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list May 13, and he said he is optimistic he'll be ready.

San Francisco Giants RP Jeremy Affeldt (knee) sprained his right knee over the weekend reaching out to catch his son who jumped off the couch to hug his father. Affeldt said he heard a pop in his knee and woke up the next day with throbbing pain in his knee. He will likely use a brace on his knee when he returns to action.

San Francisco Giants RP Jeremy Affeldt (knee) has an injury which is a seven-to-10-day thing, but he will need a minor league rehab stint. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, May 1.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Scott Rolen's homer leading off the seventh inning sparked a four-run rally that lifted the Reds to a 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, April 25. Rolen's first homer of the season knocked Giants SP Barry Zito out of the game and the Reds took the lead against RP Clay Hensley and RP Jeremy Affeldt.
