San Francisco Giants SP Barry Zito allowed seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts over seven scoreless innings in a win Wednesday, April 10, against the Colorado Rockies. He won his 11th straight decision, and the Giants have won each of his past 16 starts. It is the longest such run by a Giants pitcher since 16 in a row by Carl Hubbell for the New York Giants in 1936.
Fantasy Tip: Zito is on a roll. He has thrown 14 scoreless innings so far this season, which is the deepest he has gone without giving up a run to start a season in his 14-year career. He has re-emerged as a must-start in all fantasy leagues after a few rough patches in recent years.

San Francisco Giants SP Barry Zito isn't messing with his mechanics or making any drastic changes to his delivery this spring like he has in years past. He started throwing off a mound twice a week in early January this year and has thrown off a mound eight or nine times before Thursday, Feb. 14. "It's evident he put in a lot of work in the offseason," manager Bruce Bochy said. "What goes with that is confidence. He's coming off a fantastic year. Before that, he'd gone through ups and downs and when you have adversity you work on things. He found himself last year with his delivery and he's carried that into this spring and he's throwing the ball with a lot of confidence."
