The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Pirates P Jaret Wright has agreed to delay the team's decision on whether he will make the 25-man roster until Thursday, March 27. Wright had the right to opt out of his contract Tuesday, March 25, because he was not guaranteed a spot on the roster. He is scheduled to pitch Wednesday, March 26.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jaret Wright (elbow) was hit near the right elbow by a comebacker in the eighth inning of the team's March 2 game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Wright stayed in the game and finished the inning.

Dejan Kovacevic, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Pirates have signed free-agent SP Jaret Wright (Orioles) to a minor league contract. Wright has been invited to the major league spring training camp.

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Orioles P Jaret Wright (shoulder) left the team and will not rejoin the roster. Wright threw in three rehab appearances for Double-A Bowie but was never called back up to the big league roster. His contract with the Orioles expires after this season.

Updating previous items, MLB.com's Spencer Fordin reports Baltimore Orioles P Jaret Wright (shoulder) threw a scoreless inning for Double-A Bowie Sunday, Aug. 26, and could be close to rejoining the active roster. Wright has been on the disabled list since late April with right shoulder soreness and has been maxing out in velocity at around 90 mph after being able to throw in the high 90s earlier in his career. Manager Dave Trembley said Wright would have to throw again several times to get stretched out enough to contribute, even out of the bullpen.
