White Sox | Wright has Tommy John Surgery

Scott Merkin, of WhiteSox.MLB.com, reports Chicago White Sox P Dan Wright (elbow/shoulder) had Tommy John surgery Tuesday, June 1. Wright will be out for 12-18 months. Wright also has problems with his shoulder but elected not to operate on the shoulder.

White Sox | Struggling to Find Fifth Pitcher

Scott Merkin, of WhiteSox.MLB.com, reports the Chicago White Sox are struggling to find a fifth starter in their pitching rotation. So far, four players - Jon Rauch, Dan Wright, Felix Diaz and Neal Cotts - have all failed to get the job done with a combined 0-7 record and 10.02 ERA in eight starts. There's a good chance the team will try a fifth different player in mid-June.

Updating a previous item, Scott Merkin, of Whitesox.MLB.com, reports Chicago White Sox SP Dan Wright (elbow, shoulder), currently assigned to Triple-A Charlotte, was placed on the disabled list Saturday, May 15, to further evaluate his health. Wright was scheduled to undergo an MRI on his right elbow and right shoulder, but the process is still in the diagnostic stage.

Bob Foltman of The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago White Sox P Dan Wright is still the White Sox's fifth starter, even though he hasn't lasted five innings in his first two starts. "I don't want him looking over his shoulder," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "He's the guy we're going to every fifth and sixth day."
