"He's an older guy, and we have to make sure everything is fine," Astros manager Cecil Cooper said. "Last spring, I thought he might have been a little tender and didn't say a whole lot about it. I think it might have affected the year he had, but he's 100 percent healthy now." Instead of throwing in as many minor league games and simulated games as last season, Williams will pitch only in Grapefruit League games this offseason.
