St. Louis Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook gave up four runs in the first inning (on three hits, two walks and a hit batter) then two more in the second (on two singles and a double) for a six-run hole through two innings. Westbrook did not get the decision but St. Louis still lost 10-9 to the Philadelphia Phillies at Busch Stadium.

He stole the first base as a pitcher with the team since SP Joel Pineiro did it in 2009. Westbrook gave up nine hits and four earned runs while walking one and striking out four in 6 1/3 innings.
