Jeff Zrebiec, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Orioles RP Jamie Walker may be released soon. He gave up two home runs in relief Tuesday, June 2. Walker has a 5.11 ERA in 12 1/3 innings of work this year and left-handed hitters are batting .458 against him.

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Orioles RP Jamie Walker was fined Thursday, April 30, for criticizing umpire Angel Hernandez. Walker said Hernandez made a "terrible and unacceptable" call when he called a balk on him in the seventh inning Tuesday, April 28.

Baltimore Sun columnist Peter Schmuck speculates that Baltimore Orioles RP Jamie Walker is not guaranteed a spot on the 25-man roster just because he's guaranteed $4.5 million in the final year of his contract. Schmuck said team official Andy MacPhail might go younger in the relief corps if Walker struggles through the exhibition season.

Orioles | Walker has irritation in ulnar nerve

Spencer Fordin, of MLB.com, reports Baltimore Orioles RP Jamie Walker (elbow) was diagnosed with irritation in his ulnar nerve, which will not require surgery in the offseason. Walker's arm should be fine with some rest and he will begin his workouts in November and begin throwing in December.

Orioles | Walker will not need surgery, says agent

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Orioles RP Jamie Walker (elbow) will not need surgery on his left elbow, according to Phil Tannenbaum, Walker's agent. Walker spent the past two days in Birmingham, Ala., getting examined by noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews. "He had his second appointment with Dr. Andrews today and Dr. Andrews gave him a clean bill of health," Tannenbaum said. "He prescribed a little bit of rest and some exercises and Jamie Walker should be ready to go for spring training. We're very pleased with the diagnosis."

Dan Connolly, of The Baltimore Sun, reports an MRI on Baltimore Orioles RP Jamie Walker (elbow) showed no ligament damage, but Walker said he would seek a second opinion with Dr. James Andrews soon. It's possible he could have arthroscopic surgery, but Walker said he expects to be fully healthy by spring training.
