The Cincinnati Reds have optioned INFs Didi Gregorius, Donald Lutz, Kris Negron, Henry X. Rodriguez and Neftali Soto and Ps Josh Judy, Kyle Lotzkar and Pedro Villarreal to the minor leagues. The team also reassigned Ps Nick Christiani, Daniel Corcino, Sean Gallagher, Donnie Joseph, Chad Reineke and Brett Tomko and Cs Tucker Barnhart and Brian Esposito to minor league camp.

Texas Rangers RP Brett Tomko worked two innings of scoreless relief Sunday, April 24, against the Kansas City Royals, reports Art Garcia, of ESPNDallas.com. It was his first action in the majors since Sept. 14, 2009. "It's been a long road to get back out there. It was definitely a good feeling walking off the field," Tomko said.

The Texas Rangers have recalled C Taylor Teagarden from Triple-A Round Rock and have purchased the contract of SP Brett Tomko, according to The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. RP Mason Tobin (elbow) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list and RP Michael Kirkman will be sent to Round Rock.

Texas Rangers RP Alexi Ogando will be moved to the rotation to take the spot of SP Tommy Hunter (groin), who will miss six weeks with a groin injury, according to The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Ogando will make his season debut in the fourth game of the season against the Seattle Mariners. RPs Mark Lowe and Pedro Strop have both earned spots in the bullpen, while SP Brett Tomko will be reassigned to Triple-A Round Rock.
