Cowboys | Defensive Back Notes |
Sun, 26 Aug 2001 21:15:50 -0700
The Dallas Morning News reports the Dallas Cowboys, for the most part, have been pleased with what their cornerbacks have done during the pre-season. The quartet of Izell Reese, Mario Edwards, Kareem Larrimore and Duane Hawthorne have only combined for 16 career starts though, which has gives the team some questions in their secondary. Reese and Edwards have been working as the starters since training camp kicked off, but head coach Dave Campo still hasn't decided which two will start the regular season. Campo stated he's still evaluated all of them. In order to stop the run this year, the team is using S Darren Woodson as a run-stuffer on most running situations. When Woodson moves up to play the run, that leaves George Teague in the middle to help the corners, who are then focusing on keeping teams from completing the deep ball on them.
