David Andriesen, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports Seattle Mariners RP Chris Reitsma has yet to decide whether or not he will report to Triple-A Tacoma. Reitsma signed a minor league contract, so if he does not report to Tacoma, the Mariners could place him on the restricted list; this would enable the Mariners to retain his rights but not have to pay him.

Updating previous reports, Seattle Mariners RP Chris Reitsma (elbow) said his arthroscopic surgery earlier this week went better than expected, and he isn't talking about possible retirement, according to the Associated Press. "I should hopefully be ready to go for spring training," Reitsma said. "I'll keep rehabbing through the winter."

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer's David Andriesen is reporting Seattle Mariners RP Chris Reitsma (elbow) will have arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 2, a damaged and arthritic elbow finally proving too painful for him to continue pitching. Reitsma was placed on the 15-day disabled list July 30 for the third time this season. "It's pretty hard to get my mind around that right now, but time will tell," Reitsma said of impending rumors he may be forced into retirement. "It might just be the card I drew, and I go on with life. I don't know."
