Alyson Footer, of Houston.Astros.MLB.com, reports Houston Astros manager Phil Garner was ejected in the first inning Friday, April 21. He was ejected for arguing balls and strikes after umpire Rick Reed exchanged words with Houston Astros SP Wandy Rodriguez.

The Sports Network St. Louis Cardinals OF Roger Cedeno has been suspended four games and fined an undisclosed amount for an incident with umpire Rick Reed during a game Tuesday, June 8. The two got into a heated exchange, during which Reed claimed Cedeno spit on him. The suspension is set to begin Friday, June 11 unless Cedeno appeals.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Robert Dvorchak reports Pittsburgh Pirates P Rick Reed (thigh) took a line drive off his left thigh and had to leave after two innings in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The former replacement player, up for the final spot in the rotation, has what is called a moderate contusion.
