Sun, 09 Jun 2013 12:04:11 -0700 New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (5-3) earned his 250th career victory against the Seattle Mariners Saturday, June 8. He allowed one run on three hits over 7 1/3 innings, with no walks and six strikeouts.
Mon, 03 Jun 2013 14:12:23 -0700 The New York Yankees activated SP Andy Pettitte (back) from the 15-day disabled list Monday, June 3, and optioned OF Brennan Boesch to the minors in a corresponding move.
Thu, 30 May 2013 13:54:47 -0700 New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) will return from the disabled list to start Monday, June 3. Fantasy Tip: Vidal Nuno, who is making a start this weekend, will likely be sent back to the minors when Pettitte returns. Pettitte remains useful in matchup plays in deep mixed leagues.
Thu, 30 May 2013 11:28:45 -0700 New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said SP Andy Pettitte (back) is expected to rejoin the starting rotation at some point during their series against the Cleveland Indians next week. Pettitte is eligible to be activated from the 15-day disabled list Sunday, June 2.
Tue, 28 May 2013 14:13:51 -0700 New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) threw a 75-pitch simulated game Tuesday, May 28, and manager Joe Girardi said it was a success.
Sun, 26 May 2013 20:10:10 -0700 Updating a previous report, New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) will throw a simulated game Tuesday, May 28, throwing between 70 and 75 pitches. Barring any setbacks, he would come off the 15-day disabled list to make his next start with the big club. Manager Joe Girardi said Sunday, May 26, that the team might hold Pettitte back a day, meaning his return might be next Monday, June 3, rather than Sunday, June 2. Fantasy Tip: Either way, Pettitte should be kept reserved in all fantasy leagues until he is officially able to return and prove his health in one full start without any setbacks due to his back issue.
Sat, 25 May 2013 17:59:56 -0700 New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday, May 25, and felt good during the session. He is scheduled to throw a simulated game Tuesday, May 28, and expects to come off the 15-day disabled list when he is eligible Saturday, June 1.
Thu, 23 May 2013 14:36:55 -0700 New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman provided some news on battered players. SP Ivan Nova (triceps, oblique) will probably return to the team after their three-game series at the Tampa Bay Rays this weekend. 3B Kevin Youkilis (back) and RP Joba Chamberlain (oblique) are on track to return a few days later. SS Eduardo Nunez (ribcage) should return by the end of the month.
Wed, 22 May 2013 15:25:30 -0700 New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) will play catch Thursday, May 23, and he'll do some long toss after that, followed by a bullpen and a simulated game. It's unclear if Pettitte will come off the disabled list when eligible next week. 1B Mark Teixeira (wrist) and 3B Kevin Youkilis (back) each received six at-bats in a simulated game Wednesday. 3B Alex Rodriguez (hip) had the day off from workouts. RP Joba Chamberlain (oblique) threw 13 pitches and is expected to have another rehab outing before coming off the DL. SP Ivan Nova (triceps) threw a light side session, but the team won't rush him back. Fantasy Tip: There isn't an imminent return from any of these players, and the Yankees are being cautious with all of them since their low-cost replacements have picked up the slack and carried them so far.
Fri, 17 May 2013 14:56:09 -0700 The New York Yankees placed SP Andy Pettitte (back) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 17, and will recall SP Vidal Nuno from the minors in a corresponding move. Fantasy Tip: Nuno was excellent in his first start earlier this week during a doubleheader. Consider him in AL-only universes if you need some pitching help. It was thought that Pettitte's back injury was minor, so they may just want to make sure he doesn't aggravate it.
