"I think it's probable that Jackie is going to be out there," coach Dave Campo said. "He practiced today and we think he's ready." Campo said he also expects LB Orantes Grant to return this week. CB Pat Dennis, claimed off waivers last week, practiced with the team for the first time Thursday. He worked mostly on scout team. FB Robert Thomas, who needed 13 stitches on two fingers on his right hand after suffering a deep laceration during Wednesday's practice, did not practice today.

"I know I won't be out there this week," said Dennis who hopes to be ready for next week's game. The Dallas Morning News reports CB Pat Dennis, whom the Dallas Cowboys claimed off waivers earlier today, must pass a physical Thursday morning. He suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the third pre-season game for the Chiefs. Cowboys trainers said an MCL sprain usually takes four to six weeks to heal, and Dennis is at the end of the six weeks. The Cowboys are not sure if he can play right away. Owner/GM Jerry Jones likes the fact Dennis is a big, physical corner who started 13 games for the Chiefs last season.

Other injured players who did not play were DT Dan Williams, LBs Mike Maslowski and Larry Atkins and CB Pat Dennis. Todd Collins (ribs and shoulder) suited up but only as the emergency quarterback.
