The Associated Press reports former MLB SP Denny Neagle's statement to an officer that cited him on a charge of soliciting prostitution can't be used because Neagle wasn't read his rights. One of the arresting officers, Michael Maestas, testified Tuesday that he had told Neagle it would help his case if he was honest. Neagle responded that he was dropping the woman off, but when Maestas said he did not believe him, Neagle then said he had acted foolishly and wanted a sex act, Maestas testified.

Rockies | Neagle Comes to Settlement

The Associated Press reports the Colorado Rockies and SP Denny Neagle have reached an undisclosed agreement on his terminated contract. In 2000, Neagle signed a five-year, $51 million contract that called for him to be paid $10 million in 2005. The deal contained a $12.5 million team option for 2006 with a $9 million buyout.

The St. Petersburg Times' Marc Topkin reports Tampa Bay Devil Rays P Denny Neagle impressed many with his first workouts of spring training. "Even in a normal spring training for me, healthy, coming off no surgeries, I've always been the kind of guy that kind of gets stronger each outing, each bullpen session, each live batting practice," Neagle said. "Even though I've been out and I'm coming back off two surgeries, I've been throwing off a mound the last two months. I definitely feel like I'm ahead of the game. And I think with each session I'll only get stronger."
