Thu, 18 Oct 2012 00:06:05 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Wednesday, Oct. 17, that they would not bring back first-base coach Eric Young and would also be adding a coach to work under hitting coach Don Baylor in a newly created position. Baylor, third-base coach Matt Williams, pitching coach Charles Nagy, bench coach Alan Trammell and bullpen coach Glenn Sherlock will return for 2013. All of the coaches, including Young, were under contract for 2013.
Sat, 05 Nov 2011 11:10:49 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks have extended the contracts of most of the members of manager Kirk Gibson's coaching staff for an additional year. First base coach Eric Young, third base coach Matt Williams, bench coach Alan Trammell, bullpen coach Glenn Sherlock and pitching coach Charles Nagy had their contracts extended through the 2013 season. Hitting coach Don Baylor has not yet received an extension because he is managing a winter ball team in Venezuela and the Diamondbacks have been unable to contact him. However, general manager Kevin Towers said the team will extend Baylor's contract as soon as possible.
