Troy E. Renck, of The Denver Post, reports the Colorado Rockies signed free-agent SP Damian Moss (Giants) to a one-year, $65,000 guaranteed minor league deal Monday, Feb. 1. He will make $8,000 a month in the minors and draw a pro-rate $450,000 salary in the majors. Moss' deal does not include an invitation to Spring Training.

Updating a previous item, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat's Jeff Fletcher reports the San Francisco Giants granted P Damian Moss his release Tuesday, Feb. 20, so he could leave the team and attend to a personal issue. He was not a candidate to make the big league club.

The Seattle Times' Greg Bishop reports recent bullpen struggles are forcing the Seattle Mariners to take a closer look at converted RP Damian Moss, who was 12-6 with the Atlanta Braves in 2002 before blood clots and Tommy John surgery derailed his progress. "I just thought this was a good opportunity," Moss said. "It's a chance where I can have success given the opportunity."
