The Arizona Diamondbacks officially placed SP Jason Marquis (leg) on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right fibula Tuesday, Aug. 16, and also designated P Kevin Mulvey for assignment. In a corresponding move, the team recalled SP Wade Miley from Triple-A Reno.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jason Marquis would be interested in pitching for the New York Mets next season if the conditions were right. Marquis did talk to the Mets two years ago.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jason Marquis (fibula) suffered a fractured right fibula in his start Sunday, Aug. 14, against the New York Mets. He was drilled by a line drive off the bat of OF Angel Pagan in the third inning. Amazingly enough, he finished the third inning, and attempted to work the fourth inning before doubling over and leaving the game. Manager Kirk Gibson said he will miss at least four to six weeks.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jason Marquis allowed 10 hits and a season-high seven earned runs against the San Francisco Giants Wednesday, Aug. 3, in his debut with the team. He walked one and struck out one en route to his sixth loss of the year.
