Sun, 19 May 2013 10:16:48 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said SP Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck) is expected to be activated from the disabled list soon but won't necessarily be placed into the starting rotation.
Wed, 15 May 2013 11:51:06 -0700 The Los Angeles Dodgers are considering placing SP Josh Beckett (groin) on the 15-day disabled list after he suffered a slightly strained groin muscle during his start Monday, May 13. Beckett is currently 0-5 with a 5.19 ERA. Fantasy Tip: Beckett has not pitched well this season and probably doesn't deserve a roster spot in deep mixed leagues as a result. With Zack Greinke (collarbone) coming back Wednesday, this might be a good time to rest Beckett up. Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck) is also nearing a return and could slot back into the rotation to fill Beckett's void.
Tue, 14 May 2013 15:44:00 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck) will make a rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Wednesday, May 15, which means SP Zack Greinke (collarbone) won't pitch for Rancho Cucamonga. Fantasy Tip: Lilly won't necessarily be a lock to re-enter the starting rotation when he's healthy. If he does reclaim a starting role, he's more of a stream option in deep mixed leagues. Greinke could be making his return to the Dodgers' rotation tomorrow night.
Sat, 04 May 2013 09:47:16 -0700 Confirming a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers SP Matt Magill will start Saturday, May 4, against the San Francisco Giants, in place of injured SP Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck).
Fri, 03 May 2013 18:14:57 -0700 Updating a previous report, the Los Angeles Dodgers officially placed SP Ted Lilly (neck) on the 15-day disabled list due to a neck injury.
Fri, 03 May 2013 16:17:41 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck) will be heading to the disabled list. Fantasy Tip: Matt Magill is expected to take Lilly's spot in the rotation due to his second disabled list stint already this year. With all of the Dodgers' starting pitching injuries, they may look outside the organization at this point to fill their needs. If not, Zach Lee could be a remote minor league option.
Fri, 03 May 2013 14:24:08 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers P Matt Magill will make the start in place of SP Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck) Saturday, May 4. Fantasy Tip: It's unclear if this is just a spot start, but given Lilly's recent injury history, it wouldn't be a shock to see him land back on the disabled list. Magill should only be considered in cavernous NL-only leagues.
Wed, 01 May 2013 11:50:24 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (rib cage, neck) underwent MRI exams on his neck and rib cage Monday, April 29, and he received an injection in his rib cage. He'll be re-evaluated Wednesday, May 1. Fantasy Tip: At Lilly's age, an injection will likely sideline him at least several days, so it seems very iffy that he'll be able to make his next start. A return to the disabled list is very possible, also. Matt Magill would start in Lilly's placea if need be, but he's only worth looking at in deep NL leagues.
Tue, 30 Apr 2013 11:28:55 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (back) is questionable for his next start after feeling tightness in his back during his start Monday, April 29. He will be evaluated Tuesday, April 30, and if he can't pitch this weekend, P Matt Magill will likely take his spot. Fantasy Tip: Lilly is having a tough time staying healthy these days as he winds down toward the end of his career. Magill should only be considered if you're desperate in NL-only leagues, and it'll likely be a spot start unless Lilly needs to make another trip to the disabled list.
Thu, 25 Apr 2013 12:08:24 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SP Ted Lilly gave up only one run in five innings in a no-decision against the New York Mets Wednesday, April 24, in his first start back since having left shoulder surgery last season. Lilly struck out seven and wiggled out of several jams to keep his team in the game. Fantasy Tip: Lilly isn't a flashy pitcher and won't strike out a ton of hitters anymore, but as evidenced by his first start in the bigs in almost a year, he gets the job done. The Mets had been particularly successful against southpaws this season, too, making his first start back even more impressive. Lilly is worth considering in deep mixed leagues if you need the innings.
