He threw live batting practice for the first time Wednesday, March 3, and will throw one more session before the team puts him into their spring plans. The Athletics plan on stretching Jennings out as a starter or long reliever.

The team will stretch him out to start or use him in long or middle relief, although he stated he is fine with any role. Jennings said he was close to signing with the San Francisco Giants at one point and also talked to the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals.
